Early Years aim to deliver outcomes-focused, evidence-informed early years’ services that are implemented to fidelity and robustly evaluated. We continue to promote and market early years services locally, nationally and internationally, sitting on a number of international networks to showcase our evidence of what works and adapting this for use in other countries. The International Networking Group on Peace Building with Young Children
Led by Early Years – the organisation for young children and supported by the International Centre for Education and Human Development in Colombia (CINDE) the Network includes early childhood organisations, specialists, teachers, practitioners and academics from conflict and post conflict regions throughout the world.
Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC)
We are proud to be a founding organisation and joint chair of the ECPC which focus is on the idea that the global community must address the root causes of violence and conflict and that families and children can be agents of change for peace. We pledge to action for peace - How we nurture, care for, teach and protect all our children matters, from generation to generation.
PRECEDE
The Partnership for Reconciliation through Early Childhood Education and Development in Europe (PRECEDE) supports civil society influence over reconciliation process and cohesion through education in early years in the Balkan region and Europe. This project was funded by the European Union - Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) Civil Society Facility (CSF).
WYRED Project
European project funding by Horizon 2020, Europe in a changing world – inclusive, innovative and reflective Societies.
Empowering young people by trusting them and listening to them. The WYRED Project brings young people together and finds out what issues matter the most to them in the ever-changing digital world. The young people are supported in exploring the issues further and presenting them to decision makers. They grow and realise their voices can be heard, taking a more active role in society.
NETQ6/Access Europe
NetQ6 is the Network for the Quality in Early Childhood Education from 0-6 years, which is a cooperative network with educative and training institutions in Europe. The project aims are to compare, analyse and face the socio challenges that arise in the growth of early childhood and compile the best practices in the field to find solutions for the new realities and special needs found in a range of education systems.

From Conflict to Peace Building: The Power of Early Childhood Initiatives Lessons from Around the World
Erasmus+ CEPNET Project
As part of this project, the students will get a chance to carry out self-directed project based activities, looking at issues in their lives that connect them to the UN’s sustainable development goals. They will discuss and debate these issues and then carry out action research projects on topics that motivate them. They will then present their findings to a wide range of different audiences. This may include members of the school community, as well as members of the wider community.
The methodology to be used during CEPNET is based on a prior project1, where over 2000 young people from across Europe worked together to develop and refine a means of advocating and communicating their concerns and voices about issues that were affecting them. Through this WYRED project, these children and young people influenced change in their schools and colleges, set up activist groups and became leaders within their communities. They also discovered innovative ways of taking a stand and expressing their opinions.
This new project takes the research team and the learning from WYRED and will transfer it to the specific environment of the primary school. Throughout the CEPNET project, the primary level students will share experiences and interact with their peers from schools in Ireland, Italy, Austria and the north of Ireland. The teachers will also get to work with teachers from these schools, as they share their tips and techniques in making children and young people into the leaders and active citizens of tomorrow. In the background, research teams in each country will provide support to the teachers and document the results.
ERASMUS+ EARLY Project
Erasmus+ EARLY - Distance Learning Model Reinforced with Robotics for 3-7 Years Old Children is a 2-year Erasmus+ funded project which aims to involve approximately 20,000 educational stakeholders throughout Europe. The overarching aim of EARLY is to address issues of capacity in preschools and in families regarding how best to utilize digital and online technologies to develop multimodal practices through a Methodology for Online Education. It seeks to do this to enhance the social inclusion of marginalised children and families.
The aim of this project is to raise the awareness of preschool teachers by developing A Manual for early education online labs including dynamic content which is linked to a distance learning module and enriched with Robotics, for preschool teachers to practice in their settings and assisting them to improve their professional profiles by giving hands-on training supported with digital teaching tools and robots.
The project will a higher education modular course curriculum (R1), using open-source coding tools and various robotics kits tested for those ages.
As part of this research initiative, feedback from an online survey from preschools, preschool leaders and teachers, and families on strategies and challenges they are facing will support the design and development of a methodology for online education for 3-7 year old children.
LINKS - The NIHR Global Health Research Group on ECD for Peacebuilding
The LINKS network is part of the international Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC) and seeks to support the development and evaluation of early childhood development (ECD) programmes in societies affected by conflict.
